French chef Daniel Boulud is celebrating the best of Provençal cuisine during London Food Month.

He will cook a four-course menu for a one-night celebration at his London restaurant, Bar Boulud, at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park. Boulud has been based in New York since 1982 and holds two Michelin stars for his eponymous restaurant in the city. His special menu will start with a feast-like aïoli provençal — crudités, seafood, quail eggs and grissini served with garlic mayonnaise — and continue with red mullet and olive-crusted lamb loin, followed by two classic desserts. The dinner, on June 20, will cost £85 including wine.

Boulud, who will “enjoy a glass of wine” as he mingles with guests, said: “Bar Boulud was always about celebrating the best of French cuisine. Not in an old-fashioned way, but by making classic dishes with originality. In June, we are celebrating Provence and the delicious food from the region with an emphasis on local produce.”
