Ching-He Huang hosts one-off feast with tequila from George Clooney

Television cook Ching-He Huang is hosting a one-off supper club with dishes that complement a tequila owned by George Clooney.

The best-selling cookery author, a regular on BBC show Saturday Kitchen, will create the Californian-Chinese feast at Mayfair restaurant Hush to help celebrate its 18th birthday and London Food Month.

The evening on Friday, June 30 is a collaboration with Casamigos — the tequila brand owned by Clooney and his business partners, Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman.

On arrival, guests will be welcomed with a Casamigos cocktail in Hush’s new Aviator cocktail bar, which was created by designers Russell Sage. They will then head downstairs to the oak-panelled private dining room for Ching’s dinner. Dishes created by the self-taught cook, who was born in Taiwan, include vegetarian Korean Bibimbap Quinoa and Thai-style chicken and prawn Ho Fun noodles. Tickets are £60. Proceeds from the night will be donated to food waste charity The Felix Project.

A spokeswoman for Hush said: “We have one of the best drinks offerings in the city so we wanted to do something for London Food Month that matched food with excellent drinks.”

Hush is owned by former lawyer Jamie Barber, who opened the restaurant in 1999 with restaurateur Geoffrey Moore, the son of Bond actor Sir Roger Moore. Sir Roger, who died last month, was an investor.
