Chubby burgers and orange Martinis: Mark Trump’s UK visit at Covent Garden's Maxwell's

Friday 13 July is an ominous date. It marks the first visit to the UK of President Trump, and to mark the occasion Covent Garden’s Maxwell’s has added two presidential items to its menu: a sickly burger and an orange cocktail.

The burger in question is called the MAGA - the Make America Great Again burger (of course) - and it’s mighty to say the least. It weighs nearly a kilogram and boasts two beef patties at 8oz a pop.

It also contains a pulled pork patty, deep fried courgettes, caramelised onions, crispy golden fries, lettuce, tomato, a secret burger sauce and three kinds of melted cheese - all packed into a brioche bun - (somehow?!)

Alongside the meaty addition, Maxwell’s has a Stormy Trumptini cocktail as an ode to the President’s orange complexion.

The vibrant cocktail is made up of vanilla vodka, Passoa liqueur, passion fruit juice and passion fruit purée served with red shot of prosecco and grenadine which resembles the President’s favourite toy - the detonator button.

The beverage is topped off (quite literally) with a candy floss garnish, to mirror Trump’s signature barnet.

The unique presidential pairing will only be available from July 9 - 15, to tie in with President Trump’s visit.
