Blue Monday – the most dispiriting day of the year – is upon us and your festive glow has likely turned to midwinter gloom.

So if you're feeling the effects of the seasonal slump, what could warm your soul more than food, fun and a bit of saving the world?

Restaurant group D&D London – the team behind Quaglino's, German Gymnasium, 100 Wardour St and many more – have launched their very first initiative to encourage a positive outlook out on the world and themselves this January.

The programme of events will focus on health and wellbeing, as well as eco-friendly causes championed by the company.

Talks by cookbook writer Jasmine Hemsley and ambassadors from both 28 Days Sober and Seedlip drinks, to help boost your new year outlook, will accompany new menus for health conscious foodies.

Diners can pick up a "Botanical Brunch" at Plateau, or a sustainably-focused Blue Planet menu at Kensington Place and Fish Market, or even discover their inner caveman with a paleo menu at New Street Grill.

For those looking to hit 2018 running, fitness classes will take place at Coq D’Argent, German Gymnasium and Bluebird.

Charitable initiatives include the group-wide ban on plastic straws, and the unveiling of "CORE", a sculpture created in collaboration with Creative Debuts and Belu Water. Made entirely from recycled water bottles, the sculpture brings attention to global water issues, in tandem with the fact that Belu donates 100% of its profits to charity WaterAid.

D&D, who serve Belu across its sites, will be donating £1 on every D&D restaurant bill towards WaterAid’s work between January 1 and February 13. In addition, any money donated before 31 January will be doubled by the UK Government. Further charity initiatives will include a Bake Off at Bluebird and a comedy show at Old Bengal Bar.

If you haven't made your new year's resolution yet then D&D certainly have some ideas.
