US restaurant mini-chain Eggslut, which announced it was coming to the UK last year, has confirmed that its first London location will be in Notting Hill.

West Londoners will be the first to get a taste of the American casual dining concept, which champions the use of the humble egg beyond breakfast, when the brand opens a store at 185 Portobello Road in the summer of 2019.

The egg-centric menu features a selection of egg-filled sandwiches and specialities, with dishes made fresh to order.

Although details of the London menu are yet to be confirmed, it will likely feature the alarmingly-named Slut, a popular speciality dish made with pomme puree and a coddled egg, which is poached in a glass jar and served with slices of baguette.

As well as expected sandwich filling combinations including egg, cheese and bacon, Eggslut also makes a sriracha mayo and cheddar cheese Fairfax sandwich, a wagyu steak-filled Gaucho, and a cheeseburger topped with – you've guessed it – egg.

Founded in 2011, Eggslut currently has five locations in the US across California and in Las Vegas, and one overseas restaurant in Beirut, Lebanon.
