Exclusive dishes from top chefs at London Food Month’s Night Market

The dishes you won’t be able to try anywhere else
Patty & Bun: bringing a brand new burger to the Night Market
Ben Norum2 January 2018

As well as being able to find a host of signature serves from some of London’s hottest restaurants all in one place, the Night Market will also offer the chance to try exclusive dishes never before served and, quite possibly, never to be served again.

Here are some of our favourites:

Night Rider burger from Patty & Bun

You’re familiar with the Ari Gold and the Smokey Robinson, but the Night Market is your chance to try a brand new burger from the Patty & Bun crew. The Night Rider comprises a double-aged beef patty, yellow mustard mayo, white onion and gherkin relish, double American cheese, lettuce, ketchup.

Jerusalem spiced chicken thighs from Laffa

Laffa, a Levantine food stall which can usually be found at Southwark’s Flat Iron Square, will be in attendance, serving a special dish of chicken thighs rubbed with Middle Eastern spices and served with crushed garlic potatoes and pomegranate-caramelised onions.

Chaats from Cinnamon Bazaar

Vivek Singh will bring a pop-up version of his Covent Garden restaurant Cinnamon Bazaar to the Night Market, serving a selection of six chaats. These are savoury snacks commonly sold on street stalls in India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. Vivek’s versions will include a samosa chaat featuring a vegetable samosa, curried white peas and tamarind chutney; a papdi chaat with crisp wheat, yoghurt and chickpea vermicelli; and a watermelon chaat with date chutney. He will also offer Lahori chicken kadhai with root vegetables.

Pork belly from Murano

Angela Hartnett’s Murano will be serving numerous special dishes at the Night Market, including pork belly with honey-soused tomatoes, peas, girolles and baby gem.

Queso fundido from Raclette Brothers

Fresh from feeding festival-goers at Field Day, this cheesy street food outfit has a new dish up its sleeve, and it sounds rather special. Spanish-inspired queso fundido sees a chorizo stew topped with lashings of oozy melted raclette cheese and pickled red chilli.

Duck burger from The Duck Shed and Muffin Man & Co

Street food stalls The Duck Shed and Muffin Man & Co are joining forces for the NIght Market to create a one-of-a-kind duck burger served with ragu. The newly-formed team will make an offal ragu using the duck heart, livers and gizzards and the fat, which will be served with slow-roasted pulled duck, smoked pancetta, grilled ogleshield cheese and English leaves in a brioche.

Smoked pork neck from Merchants Tavern

Shoreditch gastropub Merchants Tavern, run by Angela Hartnett and Neil Borthwick, will be offering not one but two special dishes. Smoked pork neck will be served with Asian slaw for something savoury, while there’ll also be meringues with prune kernel cream and apricots

Cassava croquetas from Pisqu

The team at Fitzrovia’s Peruvian restaurant Pisqu describes its dishes as inspired by indigenous Peruvian food along with Japanese, Spanish and Chinese influences. For the NIght Market they will be whipping up a special of grilled chicken with a yellow aji sauce and a casava croqueta.

London Food Month’s Night Market runs from June 7 to 18 in Perks Field, near Kensington Palace.
