Fancy a night out in a celebrity haunt? Our series on the restaurants with big reputations reveals what to expect...

The backstory: First under the ownership of Enzo Cecconi for 21 years, the original Cecconi's closed in 1999. A year later restaurateur Hani Farsi took over and reopened it in 2004 under joint management with Nick Jones of Soho House and Hani Farsi. Since 2005 it has been under the full ownership of the Soho House group and the space was redesigned by Ilse Crawford. Like its counterparts in West Hollywod, Miami and Istanbul, smart style is merged with a cosmopolitan ambience at the London venue.

Who goes there? Housed in a prestigious building opposite the Royal Academy, it is as much of a haunt for local businessmen as celebrities or creative types. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Jason Statham, Nick Grimshaw, Kate Moss and Lindsay Lohan are just a few of the high profile names who have been spotted at the restaurant.

Famous guests: Nicole Scherzinger leaves the restaurant
Rex

What's on the menu? Hand-made pasta, seafood and dishes from Northern Italy. Burrata makes for a good starter, spaghetti lobster is a must for main and leave a little room for homemade ice-cream.

Cheque Out: Expect to pay around £75 per person for a three course dinner.

Can I book? Tables are available to book with ease at opentable.co.uk/cecconis-london or visit cecconis.co.uk for more information.

Nearest tube: Green Park or Piccadilly Circus.
