1. Some nuts — no food in evidence — at the party at Quo Vadis to celebrate Fergus Henderson’s Nose to Tail Eating being voted top cookbook “of all time” on the 1000 Cookbooks website/app. Congratulations lovely Fergus!

2. Prawn lonche (with pickle), one dish in our resplendent takeaway from Manoj Vasaikar’s Indian Zing in Hammersmith, to share with family and friends on Reg’s birthday.

3. Lunch was booked before Clove Club was announced the winner of the BMW Square Meal Award Best Restaurant 2015 (cooking gets Oscars too). Burnt clementine with buttermilk mousse was amazeballs.

4. My tip for a romantic outing: dim sum lunch at Park Chinois, with its sultry sofas, string quartet and serried ranks of charming staff.

5. After David Tennant’s Richard ll at the Barbican Centre, chicken liver parfait (no hot food served at 10.30pm) at Côte. Can’t wait for Anthony Demetre’s Osteria to open in the Centre.
