First look: Godiva's immersive chocolate banquet
Luxury Belgian chocolatier Godiva has partnered with immersive dining pioneers Gingerline to bring a sensory chocolate banquet to London, for one week only.
The experience will treat its guests to an evening of multi-sensorial, luxurious dining, with three indulgent courses informed by the shapes, tastes and stories behind the new Godiva Masterpieces collection: the Heart, the Shell and the Lion.
On arrival, visitors will step into an artist’s workshop, then venture through one of its paintings into a grand banquet hall.
They’ll embark on a gastronomic feast, with three full-room transformations inspired by Godiva’s new collection, incorporating smells, textures, movement, sound and the sort of immersive wonderment Gingerline is known for.
The location and menu are only revealed to guests via text message on the day that they have booked to attend.
Suz Mountfort, Gingerline Co-Founder, said: "Gingerline saw in Godiva’s brief the opportunity to do something new and exciting with the dining format, we wanted to create a transformative and exhilarating dining experience.
"Modern artistry comes in all forms, whether it’s through creating a painting, a fabulous plate of food, a chocolate sculpture or using sound, movement and taste to take people out of the everyday. This dinner will assemble a wondrous palette of modern art forms."
The Godiva Masterpieces range will be available in Sainsbury’s stores across the UK from September, and marks the first time that Godiva’s luxury Belgian chocolate has been available to UK consumers outside of its boutique stores.
