Enjoy a ripely louche, whisky-soaked atmosphere at the Boisdale

Tomorrow is Burns Night and we expat Scots will be mooning over the haggis and getting maudlin over a dram.

There are plenty of places in the capital for the homesick Caledonian to wax lyrical about giant offal sausages; my favourite has to be Boisdale (the Belgravia branch) for first-rate McSween's haggis and a ripely louche, whisky-soaked atmosphere.

We always like initiatives that allow us to eat and do good at the same time. On February 7, a wide selection of London's highest profile restaurants are helping raise money for the tsunami appeal with Unichef, giving between 50 and 100 per cent of their dinner takings to Unicef to help children hit by the disaster. Some of our favourites are participating: Amaya, Club Gascon, La Trompette, Locanda Locatelli, Roka and Tom Aikens to name just a handful. For the full story, visit www.unicef.org.uk
