Kerb celebrates turning five with street food mash-up party

Hybrid dishes and old favourites to mark the big birthday
Birthday bash: Kerb is five
Ben Norum11 September 2017

What do you get if you cross a burger and a bao, cross Filipino with Korean, and merge mac ‘n’ cheese with piadinas?

You’ll get the chance to find out exactly that next month as street food sensation Kerb celebrates its fifth birthday.

It will throw two parties on October 20 and 21, each featuring a host of so-called KERBlaborations pairing up traders to cook and serve a hybrid dish.

This will see Club Mexicana and Dosa Deli whip up vegan bhaji-battered Keralan tofish tacos, Oh My Dog and The Ribman create a hot sauce-smothered ‘rib dog’, Anna Mae’s and The Piadina Project serve Mac & Cheese piadinas and Vickys join forces with Blu Top to craft donut ice cream toasties.

There’ll also be a surprise “blao” invention from big-hitters Bleecker Burger and Bao among many other franken-feasts.

The parties will each take place at Kerb’s King’s Cross location, and feature brand new additions to the Kerb crew along with old favourites such as Bleecker, Rola Wala and Yum Bun.

Tickets cost £5, and the parties will run from 5-11pm, complete with DJs and cocktails.

If you can’t make those, the Kerb alumni will also be found serving at Kerb’s city site, right outside The Gherkin, every Thursday throughout October allowing you to tuck into a legend in your lunchtime.
