It is not quite breakfast in Shoreditch without smashed avo. That was the case, at least, until now, with a Thai barbecue aiming to make dishes like its green curry the new breakfast favourite.

The Smoking Goat is opening its doors extra early to food lovers in East London next week to celebrate head chef Ali Borer's morning menu centred on freshly made roti cooked on a charcoal skillet.

“On our last visit to Bangkok, we stumbled upon a guy tucking into a huge plate of goose at 10am in a back room of this canteen” Borer says. “That joyous, somewhat bizarre image sums up exactly what we want Smoking Goat in Shoreditch to be – a place for anyone to feast and drink, at any time of the day”.

To celebrate its breakfast launch, the popular restaurant will be offering free dishes from 10am-12pm from January 25 to 28 January. Among the new breakfast roti dishes are smoked fish, Thai fried chicken and curried saffron eggs, with morning pick-me-ups are such as honeydew melon and Vietnamese coffee also available for those of us who struggle in those early hours of the day.

64 Shoreditch High Street, London, E1 6JJ. Smoking Goat Redchurch Street will launch breakfast from January 25 with free breakfast dishes from 10am – 12pm until January 28
