The stars' eating whims

The stars all have personal chefs to fulfill their whims

The Queen's chefs know to tread carefully when cooking for her and her VIP guests. No garlic, no long pasta or sloppy sauces, no soft fruit (to avoid those embarrassing seeds-in-teeth situations) and she likes to season her own food - so no waiters brandishing the pepper mill.

Sarah Ferguson's one-time personal chef Genevieve Collett reports that Fergie's favourites are Italian dishes and salads.

Hollywood chef Patrick Hansen has catered for the cake requirements of everyone who's anyone. Pamela Anderson apparently likes white chocolate, Leonardo DiCaprio and Madonna have ordered cakes to resemble themselves, while Michael Jackson had one made in the shape of a 12-foot-long canoe. Don't ask.

When Pierce Brosnan throws a party he calls in his private caterer, who tells us Pierce likes nothing better than a lovely risotto. Rock 'n' roll!

Jennifer Lopez is renowned for her personal touch. When she was on Top of the Pops last year she brought three chefs with her (despite the fact that she was only on stage for a total of seven minutes). Tom Wolfe is probably the only one of her chefs to date who hasn't been fired by J-Lo. He was responsible for shipping over the Diva's favourite Power Bars and was once given a budget of £3,000 to provide food for ten of her entourage for four days.

Mark Knopfler, obviously not in dire financial straits, paid £26,000 at a charity auction to have The Ivy's chef, Mark Hix, cook dinner for ten people at his home.

Caterer Carole Sobell was employed by Uri Geller to make him a wedding cake decorated with hundreds of spoons - which she carefully kept away from Uri before the ceremony. She also had to cater for the culinary requirements of his best man Michael Jackson - who only wanted rice and vegetables.
