Earlier this summer London lost a gem when Maida Vale gastropub The Truscott Arms was forced to shut due a dramatic rent hike.

Overseen by head chef Aidan McGee, the pub had ranked in the list of the UK’s top 50 gastropubs every year since its launch, and its Sunday Roast was named the best in the entire country at the Best British Roast Dinner Awards in 2014.

Sadly there is as yet no word on the pub returning — though owner Andrew Fishwick is determined that it will — but fans of its legendary Sunday lunch can celebrate the fact that McGee will once again be serving it up every Sunday as of November.

The chef will launch a weekly residency at The Wellington in Fulham as of November 13.

He will serve the same much-loved roast options that were available at the Truscott, along with a rotating selection of classic pub dishes.

The roasts will be similar to those at the pub, which ares erved family-style on a wooden board in the middle of the table for sharing. Given the pub’s name, beef wellington will definitely be among the other dishes making an appearance.

Places will be bookable, but reservations are not yet being taken.
