Where to eat on Upper St

10 April 2012

Upper Street offers some seriously upper-class dining options, with the best of Asian, European and British food jostling for space. Here are three of the best restaurants available in this stylish north London area

Isarn
119 Upper Street, N1
Look out for the monkfish green curry with kuchai and basil, or the traditional noodle dishes at this very good, modern and stylish Thai restaurant. A very pleasant place to dine. £25pp ex-drinks. (020 7424 5153).

Pasha
301 Upper Street, N1
An agreeable take on Turkish food: Pasha offers all the familiar dishes but somehow makes them a bit lighter. Key notes are fresh herbs and decent oil. An open and airy dining room. £20pp ex-drinks. (020 7226 1454).

Fish Works
134 Upper Street, N1
Mitchell Tonks's Fish Works chain has recently opened an Islington outpost. The formula of a wet fish shop out front and simply cooked fish in the supporting restaurant was an instant success. £35pp ex-drinks. (020 7354 1279).
