This old timer in an unlikely location was among the first conveyor belt sushi joints in London. Friendly atmosphere, sound sushi at a pace to suit the City lunch rush. £25pp exdrinks. (020 7247 3227)

This a small conveyor belt sushi place on Brewer Street, that offers fresh fish and tidy presentation without frills or formality. It offers excellent value. £12pp ex drinks. (020 7734 7316)

Yo! was once an avant garde operation but now it's a prospering chain, the Haymarket branch is slick all the way from the table iPods to the cooked dishes. £16pp ex drinks (020 7930 7557).
