Workers at COMPASS Pathways, a London-based mental health care company, have raised vital funds for London Homeless Collective charities this winter.

Staff took part in a series of fundraising activities, including a five kilometre race, raffles, a comedy night, and a silent auction, in which their colleagues generously donated online classes in calligraphy, yoga and boxing.

George Goldsmith, CEO and Co-founder, said: “We knew this was going to be a tough winter for many people and wanted to support a campaign in our local community, and one that was closely aligned to our vision of a world of mental wellbeing.”

Aside from demonstrating the value of collective fundraising endeavours, employees found that their efforts gave them a sense of purpose during the difficult lockdown period.

Laurie Medhurst, R&D Team Co-ordinator who helped organise the fundraising activities, said: “The 5k race was a great way to end our Winter Games and the fundraising campaign. We loved seeing everyone getting involved, including friends and families.”

The £1.4m raised so far for the Homeless Fund will ensure homeless women are provided with crucial services, including London’s first women-only refuge to be open 24/7.

Lloyds Banking Group has also now generously donated a further £50,000 to the campaign.

António Horta-Osório, Chief Executive, said: “As a nation we must do all we can to tackle homelessness and rough sleeping.

“More than ever we need to support those struggling to house and feed themselves, as Britain seeks to recover in the aftermath of Covid-19 and we are proud to support the great work of the Evening Standard’s Homeless Fund.”
