The Coda Collection: Borough's latest 14-storey tower brings 55 new flats with views of the Shard

Great Suffolk Street, once deemed the wrong of the tracks, is now blossoming thanks to a new scheme of 55 apartments above the new premises for London Centre of Contemporary Music.
From £737,500: duplexes have private terraces offering stunning views over the Southwark rooftops

As Borough Market blossoms, so does the surrounding area, which stretches back from the Thames towards Elephant & Castle. Part of its charm is its urban residential mix, with swish riverside flats, pretty Victorian terraces, charitable and church housing, well cared-for council estates, factory and warehouse lofts and live-work homes.

Check out Great Suffolk Street, which runs beside a railway viaduct all the way to Trinity Church Square, the latter a splendid Georgian conservation area popular with Guy’s surgeons and barristers. For many years, this patch was deemed the wrong side of the tracks but architects and design companies are moving into refurbished railway arches, and small plots are being redeveloped as flats.

The 14-storey tower has a glazed brick base and a geometric form of vertical blades reminiscent of piano keys. It provides splendid views of the Shard across the Southwark rooftops. Duplexes have private terraces.
