A Ukrainian news presenter acted like a true professional after her front tooth fell out live on air.

During her report on the coronavirus pandemic, Marichka Padalko's tooth suddenly became loose.

Keeping her cool, she casually lifted her hand to catch it without interrupting her report.

Ms Padalko shared a clip of the incident on her Instagram page and said: "Yes, I really lost part of my front tooth today during the live TSN broadcast at 9am.

"This is probably my most curious experience in 20 years as a presenter."

She explained that, more than 10 years ago, her daughter had picked up a metal alarm clock from her bedroom and waved it around "like a toy".

The young child hit her mother's tooth and the incident came back to bite her years later when she was presenting live on air.

Ms Padalko said live broadcast was always "unpredictable", adding: "Honestly thought the incident would go unnoticed.

"In any situation we keep calm."

One of her colleagues told her: "You reacted like you lose your teeth every day."

Other social media users called her a "mega professional".
