The modern-day Mary Poppins, British actress Emily Blunt, who grew up in Wandsworth, has spent £8.5 million with film producer husband John Krasinski on two neighbouring units in the super-luxurious Standish condo building at Brooklyn Heights, New York.

Once a hotel, the Beaux Arts-style block merges period limestone elements with modern lifestyle must-haves including a gym and children’s playroom.

One of the major selling points is its wraparound view of the East River.

The power couple sold their townhouse at Park Slope, Brooklyn, for £5.1 million last year so this will be their main NYC base — and they will certainly be in A-list company.

New neighbours include the Bourne films star Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso.
