Here is a fragrant French opportunity. Estée Lauder’s former holiday home in Cannes is on the market.

The location can’t be beaten, overlooking the exclusive Californie quarter, the Lérins Islands and the Esterel mountains.

The late US cosmetics queen and her husband Joseph bought six-bedroom Villa Roche Cline in 1963 and used it as a holiday home for the rest of their lives. She adored the gardens filled with white perfumed flowers, roses, oleander and yew.

The house passed to the two Lauder sons, but it was sold and refurbished keeping her signature mint green colour scheme. The grounds boast a cinema and a pool.
