Sir Winston Churchill’s old flat in Morpeth Mansions, Westminster, is for rent through Knight Frank at £2,250 a week.

The wartime PM lived in the four-bedroom flat from 1930 until he entered Downing Street 10 years later. The base for many important discussions, he bought it off Lloyd George and used it as a meeting point for Anthony Eden and other supporters to form an anti-appeasement campaign after Germany’s rearmament.

After Churchill moved out, Stalin’s daughter Svetlana Alliluyeva lived there having defected to the West.

The flat was bought by Bill Roedy, former chairman and chief executive of MTV Networks International, more than 10 years ago and he is renting it out.
