The Roots Of Design has been revealed as this year's theme for Decorex International, which is taking place in September.

Now in its 39th year, Decorex has become a key feature of the London Design Festival and is a must-visit for professionals and serious interiors fans.

The four-day event is returning to Syon Park, with 400 exhibitors launching new collections.

A series of interactive installations and seminar programmes will explore how design is built on a rich heritage but is constantly evolving to incorporate new techniques and materials, from handmade bespoke pieces to furniture constructed using steam-bent processes.

Acclaimed sustainable furniture designer Sebastian Cox says: “I strongly believe that by looking at the roots of design we can continue to make things that don’t adhere to short lived trends; by looking at our roots we can make things that remain beautiful for centuries.”

Decorex runs from 18-21 September for trade visitors, and is open to the public on Tuesday 20 September.
