'Tis the season to learn new recipes and and perfect old favourites ahead of Christmas, with one-off evening and day classes on offer across the capital.

Take part in a intensive six-hour class with Waitrose to learn how to roast a duck to perfection. And while that's cooking, try your hand at making clementine and rosemary roast potatoes and stuffed caramelised onions, too.

Or, take an around the world foodie trip at The Cookery School to learn how to bake a range of traditional treats - from the British classic Gingerbread men to the German favourite Stollen.

For more alternative bakers there's even the chance to experiment with mincemeat popcorn and coconut marshmallows - ideal for when unexpected guests pop round, or as edible Christmas presents.
