Jamie Oliver is waving goodbye to central London, decamping with wife Jools and their five children to a magnificent £6 million Essex mansion.

As well as the 16th-century grand house, the Essex-born TV chef’s new 70-acre estate includes a six-bedroom farmhouse, a three-bedroom lodge, a cart shed and converted stables.

He bought his seven-bedroom Hampstead home for £8.95 million in 2016 and gave it a rustic look but he now wants real countryside for his brood.

Meanwhile, the three-bedroom Clerkenwell townhouse where he filmed his first series, The Naked Chef, is on the market for £2,695,000.

On Templeton Flagg’s books, the Chequer Street property still features the staircase Jamie slid down in the credits to get to the kitchen. It may not have the space the Olivers now require but it does make for a fab central London residence.
