Rylan Clark-Neal has announced he will be co-hosting Strictly Come Dancing spin off show It Takes Two with Zoe Ball.

The former Bit on the Side star, 30, said he is “thrilled” with the gig as he thanked Ball with “trusting” him.

“So excited to finally say i’m thrilled to be joining Team @bbcstrictly and can’t wait to get my big old teeth stuck into hosting #ItTakesTwo alongside the gorgeous @ZoeTheBall,” he tweeted.

“Thanks for trusting me with another one of your babies! Can’t wait to get going! #DaDaDaDaDaDaDaaaaaa.”

His post came hours after he had teased an announcement on Twitter with a gif of shimmering glitter and sequins.

The official Strictly Twitter account also shared the big news, posting: “Joining Zoe Ball as the co-host of It Takes Two is Rylan! We can’t wait to welcome him to the #Strictly family when the show returns on @BBCTwo in the autumn.”

Ball said: “I adore Rylan, he’s an absolute wonder, I love his daftness and naughtiness and he’s a brilliant live telly host. He’ll fit right into our It Takes Two family. Can’t wait for this new season to start, it’s going be a hoot!”

Clark currently presents Radio 2’s Saturday afternoon show, which Ball used to front before landing the Breakfast Show after Chris Evans stepped down.

It Takes Two airs Monday to Thursday on BBC2 and gives fans backstage gossip, analysis and interviews from the BBC ballroom show.

Ball was the first person to interview Katya Jones and Seann Walsh last year after their kiss hit the headlines, with Katya cheating on her husband Neil and Walsh on his then-girlfriend Rebecca Humphries.

Strictly Come Dancing and It Takes Two returns to the BBC in autumn.
