Lights, camera, action: transformed west London hub to get new flats with an eight-screen cinema behind Art Deco façade

Ealing has a revamped town centre, with new flats behind a restored Art Deco façade coming soon.

Behind the restored façade of an Art Deco cinema new flats are being built at Filmworks in Ealing.

It's part of an impressive town centre makeover, with hundreds of flats, new public squares and pedestrianised lanes with shops, restaurants and markets.

The new blocks will dovetail with heritage buildings, including the Gothic-style town hall and a fine Thirties fire station.

Filmworks flats start at £529,950, and there will be a new eight-screen Picturehouse cinema, due for completion in 2021. Call St George on 020 8023 7867.

Ealing is a big beneficiary of Crossrail, due to start operating next year — 11 minutes to Bond Street and 14 minutes to Heathrow.
