Investor Warren Buffett, with a £48 billion fortune, is third richest man in the world according to Forbes — after Microsoft’s Bill Gates and Zara retail tycoon Amancio Ortega — and famously lives in a modest family home in Omaha, Nebraska.

However, it turns out he also has a seaside property at Laguna Beach, California, which he is selling.

He bought the 3,588sq ft retreat, with ocean views across Emerald Beach in 1971 for £121,000. Now that was a good investment, given that it is on Villa Real Estate’s books for £8.8 million.

The modern six-bedroom, seven-bathroom house has sculpted ceilings and recessed lighting to spotlight Buffett’s impressive collection of modern art.
