Action Group in Equitable plea

12 April 2012

THE Equitable Members Action Group is urging policyholders to vote against the re-election of chief executive Charles Thomson, following revelations in the Daily Mail about his private life.

Spokesman Paul Braithwaite said: 'EMAG's view is that Thomson is neither up to the job nor worth his bonuses.'

Thomson, 54, has left his wife for his 27-year-old former secretary. Policyholders have criticised his near £700,000 pay packet.

EMAG is also opposing the re-election of Sir Philip Otton and Andrew Threadgold. EMAG member Rodney Allen is trying to win a seat on the board.
