Aladdin halted in fire drama

Chaotic: cast and audience are evacuated from the theatre following the blaze

A theatre performance of Aladdin had to be stopped after a fire broke out in the building.

Audience and cast members in the afternoon show at the Shaw Theatre in King's Cross were evacuated 10 minutes before the end after the blaze in the Novotel Hotel, which houses the venue.

Dozens of hotel guests were also evacuated after the fire started in a sauna room on the fifth floor. No injuries were reported.
