Amelie: Another victim emerges

Detectives investigating the murder of Amelie Delagrange have released details of a horrific new attack on a woman waiting at a bus stop.

A 33-year-old hairdresser was waiting for a bus near Heathrow Airport when a man jumped out of a car that had pulled up nearby, ran to her and hit her over the head with a blunt object.

The attack took place on 16 December, 2003 - seven months before the murder of Miss Delagrange, 22, who was battered to death on Twickenham Green last August.

The hairdresser was attacked as she called her husband on her mobile phone. She remembered nothing more until she woke in hospital.

She was attacked at about 7.45pm in Bath Road, Longford, just north of Heathrow.

Police believe the assault was seen by a white woman with short dark hair. They are appealing for her to ring them on 020 8785 8244 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
