Anglia gets back on the rails

GB RAILWAYS, the company that runs the Anglia franchise, is back in the black. The company credited growing commuter and leisure traffic for Anglia and a new subsidised Norwich-to-Cambridge route. This offset slower growth in first-class traffic.

With profits also from its Hull Trains and GB Railfreight, GB turned last year's £1.2m loss into an £857,000 pre-tax profit in the 12 months to the end of March. Anglia's passenger revenues rose by 6.7%.
