Apology for commuters after Monday morning Tube disruption

12 April 2012

London Underground apologised to passengers today after a computer failure disrupted Tube services during the morning rush hour.

The Rail Maritime and Transport union said the week had started with travel "chaos" for hundreds of thousands of commuters, blaming spending cuts and "failing" infrastructure.

A Transport for London spokesman said: "The Metropolitan and Jubilee lines were part-suspended until 8.15am today due to a computer failure overnight at Baker Street.

"Services then ran with severe delays on all of the Metropolitan Line, while the Jubilee Line ran with severe delays from Stanmore to Finchley Road and minor delays on the rest of the line.

"London Underground apologises to passengers who were inconvenienced."
