April 'shower' on the way...

There are April showers - and then there's this threatening sky.

A photographer took the dramatic shot overlooking the Thames, HMS Belfast and Tower Bridge from an office block in the City at sunset yesterday.

The thickening cloud moved up from west London through the East End, where some areas got a severe drenching.

A Met Office spokeswoman said that about seven miles to the west at Northolt at 8pm, when the picture was taken, "it was gin-clear, not a cloud in the sky".
