Arsenal players line up to get a bold new strip for their cars

Before: Theo Walcott with Yianni Charalambous and his Volkswagen Touareg

He is the man footballers turn to when they want to change their car but don't want to buy a new one.

Yianni Charalambous, 34, is a wrap artist — he specialises in wrapping cars in custom colours by covering them with an adhesive vinyl film. And, as can be seen above, after he has worked his magic, the same car suddenly looks completely different.

The father-of-two, who lives in Barnet, started his business after becoming friends with Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna.

When he modified the player's Range Rover and delivered it to the club's training ground other players asked if he could do the same for them.

Theo Walcott wanted to give his Volkswagen Touareg to his mother, so he asked Mr Charalambous to wrap it in orange.

"When footballers get bored with a car, having it wrapped is like getting a new one without losing £20,000 by selling it," Mr Charalambous said.

"They trust me to choose for them because they know I've got good taste so it doesn't look tacky."

Wrapping costs from about £1,500 for standard colours up to £5,000 for custom finishes, such as pearl, with a waiting list of up to nine weeks.
