Art curator will get a platform at King’s Cross

12 April 2012

A curator is being sought to turn King's Cross into an international destination for contemporary art.

King's Cross Central, the partnership developing 67 acres north of the station, is offering a £30,000-a-year, three-year contract for a candidate who is able to co-ordinate new works "that people come to see from across London, the UK and the rest of the world".

King's Cross is already on its second "artist in residence" — sculptor Graham Hudson — and Central St Martin's College is due to move to the site next year.

Applicants have until June 21 to come forward and the winner will be announced in July.

Anna Strongman, from King's Cross Central, said: "It's an exciting but challenging brief - we are looking for someone who recognises the artistic opportunities on site now and also in the future and can build a coherent and innovative programme."
