Aspinall quitting at Avanti

13 April 2012

MAN-ABOUT-TOWN Damian Aspinall has stepped down from the board of private equity investment group Avanti Capital.

Aspinall, whose late father John was a casino owner and zoo keeper, is quitting along with non-executive chairman Daniel Taylor. Philip Crawford replaces Taylor with immediate effect.

Aspinall, who squired a bevy of beautiful women before recently having a daughter with former TV presenter Donna Air, is a frequent fixture in society columns.

Avanti is understood to believe that Aspinall's high profile has become unnecessary as the group matures. Property tycoon Anton Bilton - also a stalwart of London's posh party circuit - remains a director of Avanti.

The group's deals include backing a £7m buyout of restaurant and nightclub chain Po Na Na.
