Back the bid, says Coe

Lord Coe is calling on the business community to give more support to London's Olympic bid.

The London 2012 chairman is alleged to be disappointed with responses from the City to the campaign and wants several more million pounds in corporate backing.

Lord Coe, who plans to attend the CBI and TUC conferences this year, says businesses can also help by offering products or services. So far British Airways, EDF and British Telecom have each given ?1 million.

Looking to City banks to back the bid, Lord Coe said: "The financial and corporate underpinning are very important."
