Big Brother's Spencer faces eviction

Bookies' favourite Spencer was nominated today for eviction from the Big Brother house.

The 23-year-old from Cambridge was the surprise choice of four housemates along with Alex, who also received four nominations.

Adele, Alex, Jonny and Sophie all picked Spencer, who has been tipped to walk away with the £70,000 prize.

The ski shop assistant and part-time punt operator has never been nominated before but his popularity within the house has taken a nosedive.

Sophie branded him "quite lazy" and said he did not mix well with the others, while Adele said his inability to live on the poor side without cigarettes and alcohol was "shallow".

Spencer greeted the news in typically laconic style, saying only "woo" before going into the bedroom to play darts on his own.

Male model Alex, from Essex, has now been nominated a total of 13 times, was chosen this time around by Jonny, Kate, PJ and Spencer.

Only Adele has managed to make it through the show without receiving a single nomination.

Jade was banned from this week's nomination for breaking the Big Brother rules and discussing nominations with the other housemates.

Newcomer Tim was also exempt because it is his first week inside the house.

Either Spencer or Alex will now be evicted on Friday night's show after facing a public vote.
