Biggest rack for Boris bikes opens at Waterloo

12 April 2012

London's biggest Boris bike rack opened today at Waterloo station.

The docking station has room for 126 of the pay-as-you-ride Barclays Cycle Hire bikes.

The scheme is being expanded into east London in the build-up to the Olympics, to make about 8,000 bikes available.

David Brown, TfL's Managing Director of Surface Transport, said: "Members and casual users are really embracing the scheme in London, they've already made over two million journeys."

Mike Goggin, Network Rail's director of stations and customer service, said: "The new docking stations at Waterloo will make it much easier and more convenient for passengers who use Britain's busiest station to make cycling part of their daily journeys."
