Briton, 19, injured in ‘drunken’ pool leap

12 April 2012

A British teenager was today fighting for his life after apparently jumping from the roof of a holiday apartment block in Ibiza.

The 19-year-old broke his back, a leg and suffered serious head injuries as he plunged 30 feet to the ground.

A holiday rep found him lying conscious at 3.30am yesterday. It is thought he was trying to leap into the hotel swimming pool from the third floor roof but misjudged the distance.

Spanish police are investigating the accident at the Laura S'atalaya apartment block in San Antonio. The teenager is said to have been drunk. His mother has since flown out to the island.
