Burglar caught as he raided ‘decoy’ flat

A thief was caught when he broke into a decoy council flat rigged with police CCTV cameras.

Michael Probert, 43, was cornered as he stole a flat screen TV and a laptop from the vacant flat in Islington. Probert admitted burglary and was given a suspended five-month jail sentence and 12-month supervision order at Blackfriars crown court.
