C&W finance chief set to quit

13 April 2012

DAVID Prince, finance director at telecoms group Cable & Wireless, is to retire at the end of the year.

He has been with the company for more than 20 years and became finance director last year in the throes of the crisis that engulfed the company before the ousting of chief executive Graham Wallace.

Prince, 52, is paid £400,000 a year and is likely to receive an early retirement package of around a year's salary, although the terms are still being negotiated. He will be replaced by Charles Herlinger, currently a senior financial executive at Siemens.
