Cabbies to halt London

About 700 black cab drivers were aiming to halt part of central London this afternoon in protest at Ken Livingstone's fare changes and rises in licence fees.

They were due to head for Tower Bridge and Tooley Street, behind City Hall.

They claim they are losing money because of changes to the night rates, while the cost of licences has risen from £106 to £146 for one year and £140 to £252 for three years.
