Cambodia asks UN to stop temple war

Cambodia called for the UN to help end the fighting on its border with Thailand, where artillery fire echoed again at an 11th-century temple.

In 1962, the World Court ruled that the Preah Vihear temple belongs to Cambodia but Thai nationalists claim it as theirs. Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said the battle posed a threat to regional stability. Five people have died since Friday.
