Car exports gearing up

CAR production is on the rebound - thanks to growing exports, both to Europe and North America, of Jaguar XTypes (Ford), Minis (BMW) and Peugeot 206s. Output, up 16.5% last month, is heading for 1.6m cars this year, a 7% rise on 2001's seven-year low, said the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
