Chip sales growth forecast is upped

MARKET research firm Gartner has raised its growth forecast for global sales of microchips this year from 8% to 11%, suggesting that the market will now be worth $173 billion (£110 billion). Last year, sales were $156 billion. Gartner vice-president Richard Gordon said pricing in the industry has stabilised.
