Classic FM ads boost for GWR

12 April 2012

CLASSIC FM is having one of its best months for radio advertising, its owner GWR said. But GWR, which owns 38 local radio stations, warned that it remained cautious on the outlook for revenues despite signs of improvement in the advertising market.

In January, the group said like-for-like revenues in Britain had fallen by 10.8% in the three months to December, its third quarter. Today, it said fourth-quarter like-for-like revenues were expected to be flat with a 4.8% fall in national revenues countered by a 2.7% increase in local revenues. This makes second-half revenues down by 6%, making the fall for the full financial year to March 5.5%.
