CMG clinches £5m payroll contract

12 April 2012

ANGLO-DUTCH IT firm CMG has clinched a £5m deal to provide a string of Government agencies with payroll services, it has emerged. The outsourcing contract is for a consortium of 13 Government agencies, led by the Treasury.

Others include the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, the National Assembly for Wales, Crown Prosecution Service and Office for National Statistics. Under the deal, individual consortium members will be able to choose the payroll service from CMG that best suits their needs.

Philippa Goodyear, managing director of HR Services at CMG, said the win was a 'great endorsement' for the group. She added: 'It allows us to build on our success in this sector and opens up the opportunity for us to work with a wide range of government agencies.'

Shares in the former blue-chip rose 2p to 54p, a near 4% improvement. However, the stock remains well below highs of nearly £17 reached during the tech boom. CMG is listed both in the City and in Amsterdam and employs more than 13,000 people worldwide. As well as outsourced IT services, CMG also specialises in the technology behind text messaging.
