Copper giants slide after EC raids

SHARES in copper concentrate producers fell today as the European Commission revealed that it had sent inspectors to raid the offices of a number of British and Portuguese companies. Mining giants BHP Billiton, down 4 1/2p to 310 3/4p, and Rio Tinto, which slipped 23p to 1166p, both confirmed they were co-operating with the investigating officers.
